Croatia's many charms

Arriving at Croatia's capital, Zagreb, get away from the crowds, and spend an afternoon in the verdant Plitvice Lakes National Park, where you can wander through lush greenery while taking in the surrounding aquamarine waters, and picturesque waterfalls.

Split, Croatia's second largest city, offers a peek into the country's past while allowing you to enjoy its present. The Diocletian's Palace, built as a military fortress and imperial residence, is the living heart of the city, and within its walls, its cobbled lanes are home to hip cafes, bars and boutiques. Later, head to Kašjuni beach where you can get on a yacht and explore the islands of Hvar, known as the sunniest spot in all of Europe. Alternatively, you can choose to explore the mysterious Vis and Bisevo, popular for their caves bathed in blue and green light.

Cruise down the coast from Split to Dubrovnik, Croatia's poster city that is every bit stunning as it's described to be, and then some. The oatmeal coloured buildings with their orange sloping roofs, encircled by ancient walls, and flanked by the shimmering waters of the Adriatic sea is sight for sore eyes. Inside, amble along its limestone alleyways and explore interesting museums, galleries and shops. Catch gorgeous sunsets from one of the many trendy beach bars or take a cable car ride up to the top of Srd Hill for some breathtaking views.

Before you leave, make sure to take a trip out to forested Elaphititi islands and kayak across to Lokrum to explore beautiful gardens, caves and soak in the blue waters.
