An Adriatic fantasy

As alluring as Croatia's cities are, it is the sapphire-blue waters of the Adriatic, dotted with islands of every size, that are the country's prized attraction. The best way to take it all in is onboard a yacht complete with a captain and crew. From Spilt, sail towards sunny Hvar, Croatia's most stylish island. Walk around the town centre that curls around the harbour before hitting one of its many beaches. If Hvar shimmers in the day, its glitters at night with lively parties.

At nearby Vis, enjoy some time in the sun minus the crowds. Later, sail to Komiza known for its fine wine and its proximity to Bisevo. The latter is famous for the blue cave, a natural formation illuminated by sunbeams.

In Korcula, the sixth largest Adriatic island, explore the remnants of a flourishing medieval town. Venture into the countryside, and meander through charming villages, olive groves and vineyards, and sample some of the country's best white wine.
