Highlights of Western Australia

Western Australia is, perhaps, less visited than the country’s eastern coastline. But with its gorgeous sunsets, superb landscapes and fantastic wineries, it certainly merits a trip. The capital city of Perth is a good starting point. Swim, snorkel and kitesurf at Perth’s Cottesloe Beach, where the waters and skies are achingly beautiful. Next stop—the quaint port town of Fremantle, where you can delight in some handcrafted beer and local food, against the backdrop of a vibrant music and arts scene. North of Perth, take in the spectacular desert panoramas of Nambung National Park. Here, the rocky pillars of the Pinnacles, bearing tremendous archaeological and cultural value, take centre stage. Further up the coast is Ningaloo Reef, which offers the rare chance to swim with glorious whale sharks, a frequent visitor to the reefs along with a host of other fascinating underwater creatures. While here, treat yourself to an exquisite safari camp experience at Sal Salis, situated in Cape Range National Park close to the reef.
