Night Crawls and Sprawls

A significant part of the country’s ‘nightlife’ is the vibrant night markets in Chiang Mai, the alluring city in the northern part of Thailand. Among them is the Sunday Walking Street market, which at night, transforms into a carnival of crafts, music and food stalls. Artisan soaps, wood carvings, silk and ceramics are among the things you might find here. You’ll also find the best of Thailand’s street food, from Pad Thai noodles and crab cakes to some tasty bug snacks—crispy grasshoppers and silkworms included! A few other markets to explore are the Saturday Walking Street at Th Wualai and Chiang Mai Night Bazaar, which displays an array of antiques, pretty trinkets and home décor items.
